What we are:
Halesworth & District u3a is a membership organisation open to all who are not in full-time employment. There are no entry qualifications, no exams and no prizes; just the satisfaction of keeping mind and body active and connecting with local people who want to do the same. Our u3a has members from most of the villages in the Blyth Valley and totals around 400 members.
What we do:
Our main activities are:
Interest Groups — there are over 35 groups to join, see Groups
Monthly Meetings — these generally include an interesting and entertaining speaker (eg on Southwold Lighthouse - November 2024) and always with plenty of time to meet and chat to other u3a members. Venue The Cut Cafe, Halesworth. See Events.
Special Events — these include one-off events and outings. These photos were taken during the visit to Lavenham in July 2025.
Monthly Coffee Hour - on the last Friday of the month, 11am - 12 noon in The Cut Cafe , Halesworth (excluding August & December). An opportunity to meet some committee members and learn more about our u3a. New members, longstanding members and anyone considering joining the u3a will all be very welcome.
